Gravity metal detection systems are designed for the efficient inspection of free-falling bulk products such as powders, granules, and other dry materials. These systems are commonly used in industries like food processing, pharmaceuticals, and plastics to ensure product purity and compliance with safety standards. By detecting and removing metal contaminants before packaging or further processing, gravity metal detectors help prevent costly recalls, protect machinery from damage, and maintain high-quality standards. Their fast and precise detection capabilities make them ideal for high-throughput product flow rates, reducing downtime and improving overall efficiency. With optional integration into existing processes and minimal maintenance requirements, gravity metal detection systems provide a reliable and cost-effective solution for safeguarding product integrity.
There are two main types of Gravity metal detection;
Bulk flow systems usually come with automatic reject systems that divert contaminated material to a different path. In contrast, retail gravity systems are typically used under equipment like multi-head weighers and before flow bag sealing machines. These retail systems usually don’t have a built-in reject device because flow wrappers can be programmed to create a “double bag” when metal is detected. This method is widely accepted by retailers as an effective way to manage contaminated products.
